ODYSSEY, one of the biggest disco dance groups of the 1970s consists of male and female vocalists Lilian A. Lopez-Collazo and Albert B. Jackson. Their string of hits is endless but it was NATIVE NEW YORKER that first brought them to the attention of UK audiences and this record reached #5 in December 1977 and stayed in the charts for eleven weeks. Throughout the 80’s they enjoyed enormous chart success, including USE IT UP AND WEAR IT OUT, which reached #1, IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT, GOING BACK TO MY ROOTS, and INSIDE OUT were all top ten successes. Not only did they top the charts in the UK and USA but also throughout Europe as well as the Middle and Far East. Other interesting facts regarding the members of ODYSSEY are that Lillian won the much coveted Grammy Award for composing the opening number of the world acclaimed Bubbling Brown Sugar. Indeed, she is a prolific song writer, not only for Odyssey but for other artists too. A truly international group, Odyssey like to spend their time in the UK and Europe as much as possible and very shortly they are to tour Russia where their records are also highly successful.
