Satellite One – first steps into music business. Bremen, May 1991, Bremen-based club DJs Jens Neumann and Kai Matthiesen create their first techno project – Satellite One. Daniela „Danii“ Haak and Judith „T“ Hildebrandt, two young and ambitioned singers and dancers, highly motivated and exceptionally talented are chosen to be the front persons. A rapper is added and the first line up is complete. For two years, the band tours nightclubs and discotheques. Although the band is quite successful in selling some of its songs to a nationwide tv station that broadcasts them as soundtracks for tv trailers, the breakthrough is not there yet. The first years are hard and all energy and financial means are invested in pushing the band forward. MR. PRESIDENT – a new name and the beginning of a new era. Summer 1993, MR. PRESIDENT is founded. Satellite One becomes history, dancepop replaces techno as the dominating musical style, rapper Sir Prophet replaces his precursor. The new name has a clear cut meaning: “M” stands for “Music”, “R” for “Rhythm”, “President” for the highest available position, for perfection, ambition and willpower. Danii, T and Sir Prophet are ready to take off. „Up’n Away“ – the breakthrough.
September 1994, „Up’n Away“, MR. PRESIDENT’s second single, marks the commercial breakthrough. The song climbs week after week in the German single charts (peak position # 12). Rapper Sir Prophet cannot cope with success and leaves. Delroy “Lazy” Rennalls, born in Birmingham/UK is his successor. MR. PRESIDENT are media stars now, the single “Up’n Away” sells 300, 000 units. The Album “Up’n Away” is released in March 1995 and stays in the German Longplay charts for several weeks. In summer 1995, the band goes on tour. The provocating and sexy stage outfits cause a sensation. MR. PRESIDENT becomes a synonym not only for great dancepop music but also glamorous sexiness.

MR. PRESIDENT on their way to international stardom.
March 1996, “Coco Jamboo” is released and turns out to be 1996’s great summer hit. The single stays in the German charts for weeks (peak position # 2) and even succeeds to crack the official UK Top Forty’s Top Ten (peak position # 8) and the US Billboard charts. “Coco Jamboo” ends up being one of the Top 100 bestselling singles in the US in 1997!
MR. PRESIDENT become international superstars, the single and the following album “We See The Same Sun” are megasellers not only in Germany and the UK but also in countries like Japan, Spain, Finland and Mexico.
In 1996 and 1997, MR. PRESIDENT receive two ECHO awards. In August 1997 the third album “Nightclub” is released. “JoJo Action”, the album’s first single reaches position 4 in the German single charts. November 1997 sees another, very successful tour. And Danii releases a solo-single (Reset (feat. Danii) “You’ve Got the Key”). MR. PRESIDENT are also involved in several charity projects like “Love Message”, “Children Need A Helping Hand” and “Children Of The World” with „Hand in Hand For Children“ and “Let The Music Heal Your Soul” with the Bravo Allstars – a charity project with high-class line up, including the Backstreet Boys. In May 1999, the fourth album “Space Gate” is released, which includes the singles “Simbaleo” and “Give A Little” love and becomes the band’s most successful record to date (peak position # 3 (Germany)).
