Born: 23.08.1982, Bucharest, Rumania
I was born in Bucharest and this is where I spent the first years of my childhood. I attended pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and a term of 1st grade before leaving for the USA. In the States my family and I lived for four years in the beautiful east-coast state of New Jersey. This was a time of great opportunities for my family and I and I must say, that this overseas experience has taught us many new things and has somewhat changed our mentality. It also gave me the unique opportunity of learning the language among native speakers helping me to integrate very well and getting a closer look at the American culture.
Since my return to Rumania in '93, I have been attending the George Cosbus Bilingual High School and now I find myself in the last year hoping to obtain a ‘Bachelors degree’ and go to college. The 8 years spent in this school have been truly dear to me, the friends I have made along the way and the wonderful teachers I have had, will always be a part of me, for they have enriched my life significantly.
My future goals revolve around my musical career and my college education; the two things that I have worked for and will continue to do so in order to attain personal satisfaction. Regarding college, I would very much like to prepare myself for a possible future career in the diplomatic field, learning Japanese, French ,improving my English and learning Spanish. I would like to say that these intellectual activities are only for the stimulation of my brain and future personal achievements, whilst music is for my soul.
Personal view on music;
I see music as a state of spirit, as a reflection of your soul and whether not completely true, I believe that the music you sing represents you. That is why I believe an artist, sorry a true artist, must keep a constant reminder in his head that music, valuable music, is not the easy commercial one that we've been buried in over the past few years, but the one that lifts your senses, that gets the message across to the public. I hope that Rumanian music will revive in the next two years because the direction it is taking now will definitely lead no-where. That would be a shame because we have so many young talents; true young talents that I believe, with a little work and dedication, can make Rumanian music revive taking it to other levels and, why not, let it represent our country internationally. One of the most important things I want to achieve in my future musical career is to make a statement For me, it will never be the number 1 sales or the quality of fast, easy, commercial hits that count, but the QUALITY is the only thing I wish to offer to the people who want to listen to my music and be happy with the sound. If I am able to make the audience happy, then I have reached personal satisfaction.
Hobbies: I very much enjoy recreational activities such as swimming, scuba-diving, tennis, horseback riding and basically, almost all outdoor sports that I might enjoy in the company of my family or friends during my spare time. One of the things I love doing is writing. Writing songs, poetry (that I sometimes turn into songs) or short stories, are all activities that I find extremely pleasurable and relaxing. They give me a sense of great inner-comfort , creating something that is 100% me. I also enjoy listening to all types of music, learning something from each style. I love eating Turkish food from time to time and experimenting with all types of traditional dishes from different countries. Somehow, I always find myself on a diet after a big bash and my friends always hear me planning my next major diet, but hey, nothing drastic! What can a girl do to look her best? In my spare time I go to aerobics and fitness because I believe that a good looking body is a body that is constantly being taken care of. I love sweets but, unfortunately, as much as I love eating them all day long, I have decided to put them on the 'public enemy no 1' list and eat just a little bit on special occasions. My pet dog Angelo is my smallest pal. I love him a lot because when you look at him you can’t do anything but smile and cuddle him. He loves to pose and is very photogenic.
Colours:
My favourite colours are blue and white because they give me inner peace and I think that the colours you wear or surround you are very important.
Role models:
My no 1 role models are my parents who have taught me how to do my very best in everything I do. They have taught me to be myself, treat people like I would like them to treat me, be kind, respectful and treat all people equally. My parents are, first of all, my best friends and I think it is important to build a parent-child relationship starting from this premise.
Musically, my role models are Anouk, Traci Chapman, Jewel, Whitney Houston, because I believe these people truly have something to say through their music and their voices are unique. What I want to do is to make my music unique. If I can do that I will be completely happy.
