Met zijn debuutsingle "Stimulate" op het Perfecto label van Paul Oakenfold vestigde de Nederlandse producer Emjay zijn naam. Hij heeft nu een speciale opvolger gemaakt.
Junkie XL remixte Elvis
Paul Oakenfold nam The Doors onder handen en Emjay heeft nu John Lennon nieuw leven ingeblazen. De producer heeft het befaamde Lennon nummer Power To the People gecoverd. Yoko Ono, de weduwe van John Lennon, heeft Emjay & The Atari Babies exclusief toestemming gegeven om het nummer te gebruiken. Power To The People wordt gebruikt als anthem voor Make Some Noise, de internationale campagne van Amnesty International (www.amnesty.org/noise). Emjay is overigens in goed gezelschap, want ook artiesten als Black Eyed Peas, The Cure en Maroon 5 doen mee aan de campagne en hebben een eigen versie gemaakt van een John Lennon nummer. De Nederlandse Cherwin heeft voor Emjay?s Power To The People de vocals ingezongen.

Fifteen years after DJ Emjay
first moved to Amsterdam?s Red Light District, he decided to create a movement as dirty and rocking as the district. Mastermind behind Dutch super club concept Kremlin, Emjay has partnered with some of the biggest in the industry, such as Paul Oakenfold, to enter the Pop Dance scene with the shameless new act Emjay & The Atari Babies; a movement that is to stun your audience with their catchy & edgy electro pop.
Renowned for their fiercely
independent spirit, riot-inciting gigs and outspoken interviews, Emjay & The Atari Babies are on the way up at the moment. Spearheading their forthcoming album, first single ?Stimulate?, featured in Madonna's Confessions tour and the upcoming Hollywood movie "Nobel Son", has already elevated to hit status. This cocktail of electro synths, rock guitars and sing-a-long chorus is one hugely catchy electro pop song with a very welcome dark edge. E.A.T.A.B. make pop music, dancey pop music with the glamorous air of Goldfrapp and the coolness of Depeche Mode.
The more credible synth elements
retain their tuneful pop ethic. This is the real deal with a very grimy take on pop that drips with sexual tension and has remixers drooling at the possibilities. On stage one can expect an attitude-packed live show injecting fun and frisson back into culture combining pop songs with a powerful DJ set coupled with fashionably bizarre outfits and actions that often set a statement on stage.
