Blues Brothers Dedication Revue wordt in 1996 opgericht door Otis P. Morganfield en Little Sonny Cotton. Deze 30-45 minuten durende high energy tape-act is te beschrijven als dampend entertainment van het allerhoogste niveau. Otis P. Morganfield en Little Sonny Cotton gebruiken geen op de markt verkrijgbare backing tapes, die doorgaans te licht bevonden worden, maar maakten hun eigen tapes m.m.v. de beste Nederlandse muzikanten in het genre. Het resultaat? Sluit je ogen tijdens een Blues Brothers Dedication Revue optreden en je zou zweren dat er een fantastische live act staat te knallen. Dankzij deze opzet en natuurlijk dankzij de vocaliteiten van Otis P. Morganfield – live vocalen, die door merg en been gaan – en van Little Sonny Coton – messcherpe Chicago bluesharp en show – is de Blues Brothers Dedication Revue vanaf het begin een daverend succes.
Door klassiekers als "Everybody needs somebody", "Soulman", "Gimme some loving", "Minnie the Moocher", alsmede door de 'Take no prisoners' houding ten opzichte van publieksparticipatie, gaan kleine en grote zalen totaal plat voor deze artistiek bevredigende en commercieel verantwoorde Rhythm and Blues revue. Voor grotere evenementen of een complete liveshow bestaat de mogelijkheid dat de Blues Brothers Dedication Revue begeleid wordt door The Swinging Soul Machine, Belushi Memorial Band of The Lou Roman Orchestra.
Een show geïnspireerd
door Jake en gezegend door Elwood Otis P. Morganfield was born an orphan in Shallow Grave, Mississippi. He is the oldest of 23 children. Otis began performing in and around Shallow Grave at the age of 3 and soon after recorded the blues hit ‘Hit My Daddy Half To Death’. He was convicted of singing the devils music at the age of 7 and spent the next 20 years in prison until his release in 1996. He has been known to sing the women in the audience into a trance of desire and some have spontaneously combusted. This man is to be considered armed and very, very dangerous.
Little Sonny Cotton
is somewhat of a mystery to Mississippi state officials. While never legally born, he released his first R&B single ‘Chew ‘Yo Food Good’ in 1938. There is no explanation for his youthful appearance, but rumors still persist in the American south of his pact with the devil, guaranteeing ever-lasting youth and vitality. He has served time in 42 prisons around the world, and has escaped from each and everyone. He can talk anybody into anything and is considered dangerous to all. He is armed with several razor – sharp harmonicas.
